I keep getting a 'Media Usage Rights Acquisition' pop up. Why?

Firstly, all of our videos are protected using Windows Media DRM so you may be required to upgrade your Windows Media Player to enable DRM. Your Windows Media Player will usually prompt you to do this and provide you with the necessary instructions. For more help on Windows Media DRM, please click here.

There are a number of other settings on your browser that may be preventing your from automatically obtaining the media licenses required to view our videos. Try the following simple steps:

A) The Windows Media Player cannot download media usage rights automatically if the Download usage rights automatically when I play or sync a file option is turned off (by default, it is turned on). To verify that it is turned on, do the following:

1. Open Windows Media Player from your desktop.
2. Click the arrow below the Now Playing tab, click More Options, and then click the Privacy tab.
3. Verify that the download usage rights automatically when I play or sync a file check box is selected.

B) In order to enable silent authentication for your license to view our movies, you must also enable cookies. This can be done as follows:

I have paid but I still get a 'Media Righs Acquisition' pop up. Why?

Sometimes, the silent media usage rights process gets blocked. To manually recieve a licence after you've paid, refer to the Purchase Confirmation page or your Purchase Confirmation email, where there is a Activation Code such as this c7e9d486d6b827236b01d4ae5271e5dc. Copy and paste or re-type this code into the space provided and submit. You should recieve the appropriate licence to playback the movie. I entered the Activation Code but still I can't watch the video. Why?

The Media Usage Rights Acquisition page requires an ActiveX subroutine to run on the page.  If permission has not been given to allow ActiveX to run prior to inputting the activation code, the code will not work.  

To activate the ActiveX
1) Click on the gold coloured toolbar at the top of the page to allow ActiveX to run
2) Follow the on screen prompts to return to the Windows Media Player
3) Click Play on the Media Player for the content you wish to watch and re-input the activation code. 
4) Then click Play on the Media Usage Rights Acquisition page.

The video quality is poor. Can I do anything to improve it?

We provide all our movies, dramas and clips in both low and high qualities to cater for all internet connection speeds, but sometimes your connection could be limited. We suggest that when you are experiencing a poor streaming service, try and download the video and play it back locally on your PC.   What do I do when the video doesn't play and all I get is a green screen?

 When your movie doesn't play and instead you get a green screen in the player window, do the following:

 1. Left click on the player window to activate ActiveX controls

 2. Right Click on the player and select 'options'

 3. On the Video Accelerator Slide Bar, move the cursor

 4. Click Apply and then Click OK and check if the player now works

 5. If it still does not work, try a different level of accleration in the Video Accelerator Slide Bar

Why do I need to install a download manager?

We want to ensure that when downloading a video, the process is prpoerly managed and easy to operate. The download manager ensure that if you lose your internet connection or cannot complete the download, you can start from where you left off; you can start watching the movie while you are downloading (preview); you know here all your downloads are located and you video license is obtained silently.

How do I know if the download manager is installed?

If this error page appears, your computer is unable to find download manager and it needs to be installed.

How do I install the download manager? 

To install the Bollywood.tv Download Manager, click here and follow these instructions:

1. Press RUN twice

2. Then click 'I Agree' and select Next

3. The download manager works within a Microsoft .Net framework and on some PC's, you may be required to download and install this component from Microsoft. Please install this (unfortunately, it is a large file and may take sometime to download) and press Accept. This will complete the installation.

Can I watch movies before they finish downloading?

Yes, Bollywood.tv utilises progressive downloading technology, enabling playback to begin whilst the movi or clip is downloading. To begin watching the video, click Preview next to the video you want to watch within the Bollywood.tv Download Manager. the video should begin playing wwithin a few seconds, once sufficent initial buffer has built up.

I can't find my downloaded video. Where is it?

Downloaded video files can be found on of two ways:

1) By following the My Bollywood.tv short cut from the desktop to your My Documents directory (note this may not work if have chosen to store your movies elsewhere on your system)
2) By activating the Bollywood.tv Download Manager application

To activate the Bollywood.tv Download Manager application, 

1)  Launch the application from the start menu: 
     Start>>All Programs>>Bollywood.tv>>Bollywood.tv Download Manager
2) Click on the Bollywood.tv logo in the system tray

What are the minimum PC requirements?

Your PC must have at least the following minimum specification:

PC running Microsoft Windows
Windows Media Player 9+
Broadband internet connection - 512 k/sec

Can I watch Bollywood.tv movies on a MAC?

Unfortunately, Microsoft does not support Windows Media DRM on MAC. As soon as this is supported, you will be able view movies on your MAC.

How can I connect my PC to my TV?

This depends on your equipment, but should be fairly simple if you have a graphics/video card with a TV-OUT connector, a suitable input on your television and the correct cabling.  One option is to use the S-video output on your PC to connect to the 3 RCA - red, white and yellow - input on your television.  We cannot provide advice for your individual setup, so please refer to the retailer and/or manufacturer of your goods to determine the best method for you.

How much does it cost to use Bollywood.tv?

Browsing Bollywood.tv is FREE. Watching the clips promoting each movie is FREE. We only charge to view the full length movies. We offer both a pay-per-view (delivered straight to your browser) or pay-per-download-rental (download and watch the movie offline) service. The pricng depends on the movie and/or the promotions currently on the site.

How often can I watch a movie once I've purchased it?

Access to our content is strictly controlled using Digital Rights Management. When you purchase a pay-per-view, you are able to watch the movie once to completion within a 24 hour period. When you purchase a pay-per-download-rental, you may watch the movie as many times as you wish within a 72-hour period. Unfortunately, you will not be abe to transfer this movie to another PC and watch it there.
