Last week Bollywood has been into speculation with news that Amitabh Bachchan was all set to launch his own news channel, INDIA 24/7. But the shahenshah has now clarified that INDIA 24/7 isn’t name for any news channel but instead it’s the film’s title which he is doing with Ram Gopal Verma. The flick was previously titled Rann.

"The title is no longer ‘RANN’, as in a battle or a war, but ‘INDIA 24/7′. And ever since I have been reporting on set, the media laugh riot has been in unabated operation," says Bachchan.

Shah Rukh Khan at the Nokia - Kolkata Knight Riders tie up press conference held at Grand Hyatt, Santacruz, Mumbai on Sunday April 5th evening took on Sunil Gavaskar head on. The cricketing legend Gavaskar had criticised KKR coach John Buchanan over their team strategies including the possibility of multiple captains for the team.

When asked about his reaction over Gavaskar’s comments in his column in Hindustan Times about KKR, the King Khan his typical sarcastic style replied, “I have tremendous respect for Mr. Sunil Gavaskar. He was a great player of his times.  But T20 is a new type of game. Since he hasn’t ever played this game he has no right to comment on it. If he is still so interested then he should buy an IPL team for himself and implement his game tactics. We know what is good for us and good for cricket.”

Mehul Kumar made a couple of films with Nana Patekar [TIRANGAA, KRANTIVEER, KOHRAM]. This guru of Abbas-Mustan [yes, the director duo assisted Mehulbhai for couple of years before they turned independent] has also made a few films with Amitabh Bachchan. Now Mehul is making the sequel to KRANTIVEER, called KRANTIVEER - THE REVOLUTION.

Why did he opt for new names this time? “Because the subject deals with youth. I could’ve cast established actors, but they would’ve come with the baggage of a fixed image. As for newcomers, you can mould them the way you wish to,” the veteran film-maker says.
