Akshay Kapoor was detained at the London airport for literally five hours.

Akshay had genuinely tried to change tracks from nonsensical comedies to more meaningful roles in serious cinema and his first step towards it was his Nagesh Kukunoor film. But although Akshay has given it his all to the film, Nagesh has let him down in the writing and direction department. Even hardcore Akki fans have stayed away from this mind numbing whodunit.

How is life post-Ghajini? You are flooded with endorsements now.
Life is pretty much the same. As for endorsements, I have been doing ads since the age of 14. So far, I have done around 50 ads including Parachute, BPL Mobile, Mirinda and Colgate. Most of the commercials you are seeing now have been signed much before Ghajini happened.
2009 may have begun on a debacle note for Khiladi Kumar with CC2C going under but he has many chances to regain his lost glory. Unlike his competitors, who have only one or two films each scheduled for release this year (My Name is Khan for SRK, 3 Idiots for Aamir, London Dreams, Veer for Salman and Kites for Hrithik), Akki has four. Today his Eight By ten is releasing which is sci-fi, thriller and action oriented film. We just look at his rest of the films which would release this year.

There were doubts about the box office prospects of Akshay Kumar starrer 8X10 TASVEER even before it’s release. Reason? The film had seen the least hype for an Akshay Kumar starrer in last 3-4 years and the actor too was underplaying the promotion of the film. As the release date got closer, it was quite obvious that it won’t take a thunderous opening as expected from an Akshay starrer.
Instead it would settle down for a 50-60% opening only and see an increase in collections only if the word of mouth is good.
Nagesh Kukunoor enters a new zone with 8 x 10 TASVEER: Suspense-thriller. His choice of the genre and subject material is also right. Yet, 8 x 10 TASVEER goes wrong, horribly wrong.
Now what was that? This is one question that haunts you at the end of the show. And, seriously, you want to direct this question to Kukunoor, who is also credited as the writer of this film.
Slumdog Millionaire has hit the right tune and the jackpot. It won lot of awards this year all round. Now it’s the turn of Kambakkht Ishq, and it has already hit the right tune with its first look which was aired in theater on Friday. People really liked the trailer and have fallen in love with the movie.
Sajid Nadiadwala has a love for making film and this time he has gone all out and is making the biggest Bollywood film ever. The stars include Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh, Denise Richards, Aftab Shivdasani and Amruta Arora. The movie is extensively shot in Universal Studio and Kodak Theater.
Tuesday 31st of March 2009 is a day Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan won’t forget for the rest of their lives. After all, it’s the day when the ‘Khiladi’ of Bollywood and the former Miss World received the highest civilian honour- Padma Shri from the President of India- Smt.Pratibha Patil
While Akki looked dapper in a formal black suit, Ash was her dazzling best in a rose coloured saree. The event which took place in the capital also had Aishwarya’s hubby dearest Abhishek Bachchan in attendance. It surely must have been a proud moment for AB Jr. to see his better half being bestowed with the top civilian honour. As for Akki, this is one honour which he would cherish for the rest of his life.
